The Coalition for
Responsible Sand
and Silicates

We are a next generation global platform bringing together stakeholders to build a future where sand and silicates are sourced, used and managed responsibly.

Why a Coalition for Responsible Sand and Silicates?

Attention to sand and silicates is increasing — driven by minerals policy, construction decarbonisation and supply-security debates. Expectations are changing. But standards, knowledge, business tools and innovation have yet to catch up.

No single actor can address these challenges alone. And those who want to act early to shape what responsibility looks like in practice need a shared place to do so — one that lets them move faster together.

The Coalition meets these needs, generating new practices, guidance and knowledge that ensures sand and silicates resources are sourced and managed in ways that create value for people and the planet.

We need to restore regard for these materials.
That begins by addressing their invisibility.

Our founder members

This Coalition grew from the aspirations and exchanges of our founder members, and the insights of dozens of organisations who helped us shape the vision.

These organisations co-designed this platform from the ground up. We are grateful to each of them and excited to see where we go next.
